Video Biography Process

The basis for the personal history video is an interview that we conduct with you or your loved one. We are experts at creating a friendly atmosphere that will put you and your loved ones at ease. The interview can be done at your location or in our on-site studio.

When you contact us, we will discuss the direction you would like the interview to take. We will then send you a list of the questions we will be asking during the interview. These questions are designed to help you remember particular aspects of your life and events that you would like to share with your family.

Your stories can be as short or as long as you would like them to be. You are in control of what you want to say.

When the interview is over, we will edit the footage to a predetermined length of time. We encourage you to provide photos that illustrate some of the stories from the interview, which we will include in the video. We will also add background music if you like.

Before we create a master copy of the DVD, we will give you an opportunity to see the video and request changes or deletions.

The finished product will be a high-quality DVD combining the interview footage with your photos. The DVD will be packaged in a DVD case with a custom-designed insert and DVD label.

Oral History Process

The process for oral histories is very similar to the personal history video process. We send the interview questions in advance and then conduct the interview - except that it is not on camera. The interview is recorded using sound equipment only. Again, we pride ourselves on our ability to create a friendly atmosphere that will put you and your loved ones at ease. The interview can be done at your location or in our on-site studio.

When the interview is over, we will edit the sound track as needed. Before we create a master copy of the audio, we will give you an opportunity to listen and request changes or deletions.

The finished product will be a high-quality audio CD, packaged in a CD case with a custom-designed insert and label.

Photo Video Slideshow Process

We will go through several steps in creating your photo video slideshow.

  • You will sort through your photos and decide which ones you want to include in the photo video.
  • After choosing the photos, you will put them in the order in which you want them to appear in the video and number them on the back using a pencil or sticky label.
  • You will get the photos to us either in person or via the mail.
  • We will scan the photos and enhance them as needed.
  • We will add labels, graphics, and appropriate background music.
  • We will create a draft of your video.
  • You will review the draft for changes.
  • We will create the final master copy of your photo video.

Cost and Payment

The cost of the video will depend on the number of hours of shooting time, the number of photos you want included in the video, and the length of the finished DVD. We will discuss this with you in detail BEFORE we schedule the interview.

The cost of the audio interview will depend on the number of hours of interview time and the length of the finished CD. We will discuss this with you in detail BEFORE we schedule the interview.

The cost of the photo video will depend on the number of photos you want to include in the slideshow. We will quote the cost BEFORE we begin work on your project.

For all products, we require one half of the total cost as payment on the day of the interview (or when we receive your photos for the photo video). The remaining balance is due when we deliver the finished DVD or CD.
